Stephen and Hailey Englund | September 18, 2015
Grand View Lodge has had the honor of hosting weddings for more than 80 years, creating memories for both wedding guests and resort staff. In 2015 Grand View hosted a record 93 weddings. To celebrate the plethora of weddings, as well as those who married here, we have created a friendly competition for “Wedding of the Year.” Grand View staff gathered to vote for their favorite 2015 wedding, based on attire, décor, planning, and overall schematics. The winning couple receives a two-night stay as well as a gift card for our restaurants. With so many wonderful and memorable weddings, this choice could not be more difficult!
We are excited to announce Hailey and Stephen Englund as Grand View’s 2015 Wedding of the Year!
Stephen and Hailey reside in Rosemont, Minnesota, and in true Minnesota fashion they had their first date on the lake, taking a boat cruise with some friends. As a gentleman should, Stephen picked Hailey up at her house and proceeded to the lake to enjoy the sun and water. As the day turned into night, they wrapped up their first date at the annual Mound fish fry – yum! It was not long before they were on their second date, this time fishing on Lake Elmo. It seemed that luck was on their side as Hailey hooked a musky – a very rare catch. Referring to this date, Hailey shared with Grand View, “It seems on that date we were both ‘hooked’ too!
Each weekend, Grand View Lodge captures the hearts of brides and grooms as they celebrate their wedding day.

Weddings are always planned with beauty and grace; from the meals, decorations, venue, and of course the dress. Matching and pairing your outfit with the rest of the wedding party is paramount.
