Katie and Dan Hebenstreit | July 23, 2016
The tradition continues…Grand View Lodge has had the honor of hosting weddings for more than 80 years, creating memories for both wedding guests and resort staff. In 2016 Grand View celebrated over 65 weddings. To select just one wedding that captured our eye and our hearts was yet another difficult decision. With our quarterly scoring check-list in hand, Grand View staff gathered to vote for our favorite 2016 wedding based on attire, décor, planning, and overall schematics. The selection is never an easy one, as all couples left such a great impression!
We are excited to announce Katie & Dan Hebenstreit as our 2016 Wedding of the Year!
Dan and Katie currently reside in Omaha, Nebraska. Staying true to the old football tradition, they met while tailgating before a football game. Katie was in her final year at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Dan was visiting his brother, Mark, who also attended UNL. Katie was friends with Mark throughout college, so as rumor has it, we can give Dan’s brother credit for them meeting.
Each weekend, Grand View Lodge captures the hearts of brides and grooms as they celebrate their wedding day.
Every wedding Grand View hosts, is accompanied by a special story. We created this blog as an effort to show what it truly means to have a Grand View Lodge wedding. Some articles include touching family stories,
others are from the planners’ point of view, and some explore the uniqueness of choosing our resort.

Ahhh, the long days of summer are soon to be in the past as we bring the month of September. Many of our wedding couples choose to get married during the summer months because of the beautiful warm weather and long sunny days, however current weather trends have shown us that our area has […]
Anyone who has attended a wedding can agree that the bride and groom are the center of attention. Family and friends often travel from all over the country, and sometimes the world, to be with loved ones and celebrate the couple’s pending nuptials. As a family resort and destination wedding venue, many families attend the […]
Weddings are always planned with beauty and grace; from the meals, decorations, venue, and of course the dress. Matching and pairing your outfit with the rest of the wedding party is paramount. All too often your feet, the unsung heroes, go unnoticed or under appreciated. Men are often shoved into matching rental shoes that ignite […]

While tradition has dictated most ceremonies and receptions, it can be the small, personal touches that guests will remember for years to come. We at Grand View enjoy seeing these personal twists and encourage […]
